PacificRates LTL Rating Software

LTL rating software for shipments between the 11 Western states as well as Texas. PacificRates contains the regional LTL zip code rating system (PIN500) for both interstate and intrastate applications, used by shippers and carriers as base rates for transportation agreements and annual bids. Its rate levels are developed from studies of the appropriate regional LTL rate levels.

This product is a valuable tool for logistic analysis, benchmarking and other transportation projects requiring a generic LTL rate base. Give your customers the ability to get rate quotes quicker.

CzarLite®

LTL Base Rates for the U.S., Canada and Mexico

For more than 15 years, CzarLite base rates have been the focal point for successful shipper, carrier and third party transportation agreements. CzarLite base rates combine an intelligent and fair pricing system with a full line of related products that can be easily integrated with a variety of rating systems and platforms.

No individual carrier's rates can cover all your requirements equally because each has its own pricing strategies for business development and profit optimization. Unlike an individual carrier's system, CzarLite offers a market based price list derived from studies of LTL pricing on a regional, inter-regional, and national basis. This system for developing base information supports the macroeconomic issues of regional LTL carriers without succumbing to the micro operating and marketing issue of any individual carrier.

In addition, geographic components in CzarLite assure that whether your shipments are short haul or long haul, regional or national, you will be using pricing levels from the competitive market of carriers handling similar shipments.

The CzarLite pricing system is the basis for thousands of LTL contracts that annually account for over $10 billion in managed transportation. CzarLite pricing products are licensed to over 400 carriers, including all 50 of the largest national, multi-regional and regional LTL carriers.

webRater®
Internet Rate Quote System

SMC³'s webRater product is a fast and simple rating tool that enables carriers to use their own Web site to provide rate quotes to shipper-customers. webRater is also a powerful tool for corporate traffic departments that need to keep their internal users aware of transportation pricing agreements. The webRater program can be customized with your logo and is designed to be accessed directly from your Web site, thereby eliminating the trouble and expense of software distribution to your customers.

At the heart of webRater is SMC³'s Internet rating engine, a flexible system for transportation price management. Logic in the engine controls the management of multiple data modules and programs, which are sensitive to your individual pricing, effective dates and customer agreements. And, because CzarLite base rates can be incorporated into the webRater system, your customers have the ability to get door-to-door rates on shipments moving between the U.S. and Canada, the U.S. and Mexico and Canada and Mexico.

webRater eliminates the manual updates that other systems require by allowing you to make one change to the data rather than multiple changes. SMC³ manages the data, so all you have to do is enter your shipment’s characteristics for quick, up-to-date rates. Data modules are effective at 12:01am local time on the effective date.

CarrierConnect™
Carrier Points of Service and Transit Times

 CarrierConnect combines the operational capabilities, points of service, transit times and detailed contact information for dozens of carriers into one easy to use system and places that information at your fingertips. No more lost time searching carriers’ Web sites or hanging on to hardcopy carrier directories and publications.

SMC³ maintains more than 150 separate data files that represent the industry’s leading carriers operating on a national, interregional and regional basis. This comprehensive database provides pertinent information on city, state, ZIP and postal codes, key contacts, office locations, terminal listings, mileages, service times between points, and additional details provided by the carriers and other transportation industry data sources. SMC³ ensures that you have the latest information from each participating carrier by giving you easy access to our monthly data updates on the SMC³ Web site.

Customized Carrier Rating System


To make your individual carrier rating system a realistic and affordable project, a Modular Programming System has been developed. This full-featured approach to software design allows you to select the entire system or only those programs which are important to your organization. Either way your company benefits with a state-of-the-art rating system for handling virtually any pricing need. By utilizing the Modular Programming System, your company can market a completely customized rating system without the costly overhead of in-house systems management.


After you choose the rating software features your company needs, a database of rates from an individual tariff, bureau tariff or any combination you select will be developed. Data management for increases and changes are easily handled, and you have the option to distribute customer updates yourself or through PITB. You also have the option to supply us with your existing rating and routing data, and we'll develop it to run with the software selected.


The base product is a powerful carrier tool with more than 24 distinct functions and programs to choose from. In addition, your company's name, address, logo and promotional message may be displayed in the start-up screen. Additional personalization is available as are programs for rate management, analysis and special projects.


Customized rating systems are available for PC in both Windows and DOS operating systems.

Rateware® Desktop Edition: This transportation pricing tool combines the vast SMC³ library of pricing modules with a powerful system for managing transportation deals with your customer base. RateWare Desktop Edition maximizes the speed and accuracy of individual rating projects that involve multiple customers, carriers and locations. Ideal environments for this product include invoicing/billing as well as commercial payment and processing.

Rateware®.COM: RateWare COM is a COM object that gives transportation software developers access to the shipment rating capabilities of SMC³'s LTL rating engine. The COM object is extremely small, fast, and efficient and is designed to operate on 32-bit Windows platforms running on Intel processors. The design is fully self-contained, which technically means that the target machine does not require any additional files of DLLs to register and work. From a non-technical viewpoint, this means that the system can easily integrate with your existing programs using simple techniques and minimum time requirements.


Rateware® Server: The implementation of SMC³’s RateWare Server product enables you to fully realize the advantage of a durable rating engine with a library of more than 4,000 data modules. This robust rating simplifies LTL and small package pricing projects and eliminates the costly activities of sourcing, programming and maintaining data from multiple carriers. RateWare Server runs on a machine attached to your Ethernet network and provides shipment rating to client applications through TCP/IP and Windows Sockets technology.


SMC³ Data Modules: The data modules include over 4,000 transportation price lists including bureau rates, individual carrier tariffs, small package rates, base rates used by major shippers and third parties, CZAR-Lite , Canada-Lite , intra Canadian rates, ZIP code service files for selected carriers and ZIP code miles. In addition, custom modules can be created for your specialized applications. For example, a motor carrier may have a unique set of rates for a specific customer based upon a state to state matrix, a single class (FAK) and a simplified weight break structure. This data could be used to create a data module for use in both the carrier's billing system and the shipper's shipment planning and payment systems.
 

FastClass® - SMC³’s FastClass® product is the digital alternative to the hardcopy National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC)* book. The FastClass product contains the exact data of the NMFC and searches the information for you through a variety of easy-to-use features and functions. Available as a software program for the Windows environment or as a Web-enabled tool at www.smc3.com, FastClass provides the most accurate and up-to-date source of NMFC information.
