 The SMC³ webRater^® product is a fast and simple rating tool that enables carriers to use their own Web site to provide rate quotes to shipper-customers. webRater is also a powerful tool for corporate traffic departments that need to keep their internal users aware of transportation pricing agreements. The webRater program can be customized with your logo and is designed to be accessed directly from your Web site, thereby eliminating the trouble and expense of software distribution to your customers.

Carrier Points of Service and Transit Times

 SMC³ CarrierConnect^TM combines the operational capabilities, points of service, transit times and detailed contact information from hundreds of motor carriers into one easy-to-use system that integrates the information into your system.

The comprehensive CarrierConnect database provides pertinent information collected directly from carriers and other transportation industry data sources, making it ideal for:

• One-stop access to more than 150 separate data files representing the industry’s leading national, interregional and regional LTL carriers plus select truckload carriers
• Viewing detailed, terminal-level carrier contact information at a glance
• Identifying operational capabilities, including points of service and transit times, hours of operation and terminal-to-terminal networks

SMC³’s SOA delivery system enables CarrierConnect carriers to update their service and contact information via the Web, in real-time. This means every time a shipper accesses the system they receive the very latest carrier information. The new technology also introduces a “shipment mode” feature, to support a broader range of carrier offerings both domestically and internationally, as well as day/time definite delivery calculations.

Custom Windows Rating Systems

Building a dedicated customer base, increasing revenue and expanding your service options are easier than ever with SMC³'s custom Windows rating systems. When you use SMC³ custom rating software for your LTL pricing, you have access to a wide range of SMC³ pricing technologies to both implement and support your in-house needs and the needs of your customers. This custom technology covers the complete spectrum, from the diskette rater you provide to your customer, to the integration of rating into your billing system.

SMC³ manages custom raters for over 150 carriers, providing the necessary core rating technology for building individual rating programs. The points of service and transit time option works with both point names and ZIP codes to pinpoint shipment sources and delivery points. You can even include colorful graphic maps displaying your territorial application. With up-to-date information on all your terminal locations and delivery times, your customers have the security and accuracy they need to make sound decisions for their transportation needs.

Individual custom raters afford you the luxury of tailoring the rater according to your (or your customers’) exact requirements. You can also use your custom rater as an advertising vehicle by displaying banners or including videos on your CD distribution. Many other features and tools are also available to add efficiency to your system.

SMC³ RateWare^® XL increases planning flexibility and reduces the complexities of LTL rating for shippers, distributors, logistics service providers and transportation exchanges. RateWare XL technology supports LTL, truckload and small package rates, as well as class and density pricing, with rating speeds of over 80,000 rate requests per second. Regardless of whether rating is used for transportation procurement, planning, management or settlement, RateWare XL utilizes SMC³ pricing science to deliver immediate, accurate results. And, the open architecture of RateWare XL makes your transportation data and pricing information available throughout your organization, minimizing the discrepancies that often occur between procurement and settlement.

SMC³ Data Modules: The data modules include over 4,000 transportation price lists including bureau rates, individual carrier tariffs, small package rates, base rates used by major shippers and third parties, CzarLite , CanadaLite , intra Canadian rates, ZIP code service files for selected carriers and ZIP code miles. In addition, custom modules can be created for your specialized applications. For example, a motor carrier may have a unique set of rates for a specific customer based upon a state to state matrix, a single class (FAK) and a simplified weight break structure. This data could be used to create a data module for use in both the carrier's billing system and the shipper's shipment planning and payment systems.

FastClass®  - SMC3's FastClass product is the digital alternative to the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC)* book.  FastClass contains the exact data of the NMFC and searches the information for you through a variety of easy -to-use features and functions.  Available as a software program for the PC Windows environment or a s a web-enabled tool at www.smc3.com, FastClass provides the most accurate and up-to-date source of NMFC information.

*The NMFC is developed and maintained by the Commodity Classification Standards Board (CCSB), an autonomous classification-making board comprised of full time employees of the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA).
